The Bombay High Court has warned the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad against leaking details of investigations and seizures carried out in the Nalasopara arms haul case. The Centre's agencies are probing if the suspects arrested in the case could be involved in the killings of rationalist Dr Narendra Dabholkar and left-wing leader Govind Pansare.
A division bench of judges S C Dharmadhikari and B P Colabawala said, "We have noted in our previous orders that ATS official are divulging details. They should be careful in leaking such vital information.
They should be aware that the Central Bureau of Investigations and Special Investigation Team are trying to establish links between three crimes, one of which was committed in Karnataka. At this crucial stage of investigation, the officials should not boast of details of seizures and searches."
The bench made the observation while hearing a petition seeking court monitoring of the probe in the Dabholkar and Pansare cases.
The CBI informed the court that it would file a chargesheet in the Dabholkar case within two months. The bench adjourned the further hearing till November 22, and directed them to file their progress report.
