Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra Thursday appealed to the people to enrol their names in the voters' list of the state and become an active part of the electoral process.
Interacting with electoral officials at Raj Bhawan here, the governor urged them to enrol every eligible citizen of the state to ensure maximum electoral participation of the people in the democratic process.
The governor and wife Neelam Misra also registered their names in the state electoral roll, a Raj Bhawan communiqu said.
A team of officers from Papum Pare district election office, led by district election officer Dr Joram Beda, facilitated the enrolment of the governor and his wife in the state electoral roll under special summary revision.
On the occasion, Dr Beda briefed the governor about the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities, including educating the people about the importance of voting, the communiqu added.
