Law students learn crime scene management

CHANDIGARH: The criminal justice practicum cell (CJPC) of University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, in collaboration with Central Detective Training Institute (CTDI) organized a workshop on “crime scene management” for its students on Wednesday.

The workshop was held at the CDTI campus in Sector

36. An assistant professor at the department, Anju Choudhary, said the event was aimed at educating students with practical knowledge of law and evidence collected from crime scene. Students were briefed on the role of investigation officer and forensic teams at the crime scene.

Dummy crime scenes of murder, rape, bomb blast and accident were created by the CDTI team and the students got a first-hand experience of the procedure followed by the investigating agency. Students also got a lowdown on modern technology used in crime scene investigation and crime detection.
