India thrashed West Indies by an innings and 272 runs in the first Test in Rajkot last week. The win came as a booster for the hosts after their tough loss in the Test series in England last month.

Australia, on the other hand, escaped a loss against Pakistan in their first Test on Thursday in Dubai. While Pakistan needed just two wickets to win the match, Tim Paine and Nathan Lyon showed immense resistance to draw the Test.

Considering how even the top-ranked teams have been struggling in their away series, former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly in an exclusive interview with Zee media, said, “Today’s cricketers lack quality. That’s why all the teams are struggling in away series. Team’s think tank will have to sit and find out the solution to the problem.  Even the coach will have to take the responsibility because the role of the coach is very important to keep the team on track in and off the field.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s current form in recent past has placed him in the line of the all-time greats of Indian cricket.

But Sourav is not in favour of comparing him with Sachin Tendulkar. He believes Virat is excellent and as good as any great player in today’s world cricket, but Sachin is altogether a different phenomenon. It would be unfair to compare two cricketers of different times. Many people are trying to find the likes of Sachin or Sehwag in young talent Prithvi Shaw after his debut century, but Sourav believes Prithvi has just started his journey and he will have miles to go to prove his talent.

“You can find many names who have scored a century in debut Test. But very few have gone on to play 100 Tests. Prithvi has shown his talent. Now he will have to prove his longevity, “ says Ganguly, who incidentally also scored a century in his debut Test.
