Having previously taken a mega-cruise in the Caribbean and a boutique journey on a converted trawler through the Hebrides in Scotland, singer and presenter Jane McDonald is now heading off from Vancouver in Canada for an exploration of Alaska's wintry coastline. Quick to opt for English breakfast tea, Jane brings a brassy Yorkshire accent and a customer's attitude to her travel series, ticking off features instead of critiquing the larger venture. Opting for information over insults, she's keen on the "classy" boat and explores her cabin with a first-timer's excitement, even though she's an ocean voyage veteran as a one-time cruise ship vocalist. Basically it's carry on cruising with a PG rating. CM
