Priyanka Chopra’s smoky eye makeup was the perfect colour. Here’s why

The only beauty tips you need to recreate the actor’s look

Priyanka Chopra manages to live the globetrotter life like it is no big deal, and the only way to tell which side of the planet she’s on is through her beautifully put-together public appearances. Recently, the actor attended the Tiffany & Co Blue Book Collection launch party in New York, in a grey and blue outfit styled by Mimi Cutrell, a beautiful smoky eye in a metallic version of the brand’s signature namesake colour by Hollywood celebrity makeup artist Yumi Mori and a smooth blowout that rested on her back by hair expert Cameron Rains. Her metallic-finish eye makeup caught our attention instantly, as it ditches the classic grey and silver smoky eye to give a refreshingly new look for an evening out. Want to get it for yourself? Here’s an easy guide to recreating her red-carpet ready makeup at home.
Get the look
- When attempting Chopra’s beautiful eye makeup, it’s important to make sure the rest of your face has a matte finish, including your base and lipstick. Prep your face with a skin-clearing face mask to get rid of any excess oiliness and reduce marks—we love the Origins Out of Trouble 10 Minute Mask to Rescue Problem Skin for this. You can always follow this up with a light hydrating mask like the Kiehl’s Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque to completely refresh your skin.
- Then, colour correct and conceal any prominent blemishes and under-eye circles and set your base makeup with a mattifying long-wear foundation. Make sure your brows are groomed and neatly combed into place, but avoid using a lot of product, to stay away from the heavily done up look.
- The eyes are the real stars of this look. To get them to look similar to Chopra’s, pick a metallic teal eyeshadow like the Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Shadow Singles in Dragonfly to make your smoky eye easier to do. Dust the eyeshadow on your upper eyelid, blurring into the crease of your eye socket, and apply it along your lower lash line like kohl. Then, pick a smoky grey coloured eyeshadow and apply it on the outer corners of your eyes and on your lower lash line, blending for an all-over smoky effect. Use a volumising mascara like the Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara to add drama to your peepers and complete your eye makeup with a pearly highlighter dusted on your brow bone.
- For your cheeks, stick to a few dabs of a basic matte bronzer and wear a pink-toned nude on your lips—give the L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Le Matte Lip Pen in She’s So Matte a shot.
