Mumbai: Weekend will see temperature soar again

MUMBAI: The drop in maximum temperatures the city has been witnessing over the past two days is not expected to last long. IMD officials said maximum temperatures are expected to rise weekend onward.

Over the last weekend, maximum temperatures in the city touched over 37 degree Celsius. However, maximum temperatures have now dropped to around 33 degree Celsius.

Ajay Kumar, scientist from IMD Mumbai, said the drop in maximum temperatures was owing to the two cyclonic storms that have led to increase in humidity levels. “These systems have led to cloudiness and moisture incursion is witnessed. However, once the system weakens, a rise in temperatures is expected,” said Kumar.
