KOLKATA: Bengal governor
Keshari Nath Tripathi will start inauguration of Durga Puja pandals from Thursday. He is expected to leave for Garia Mitali Sangha to inaugurate the pandal of Nabadurga at around 4pm.
This year the governor will be inaugurating 32 pandals and he is expected to visit four other pandals. There were several hundred requests from various puja organisers that their pandals be inaugurated by the governor.

Mamata Banerjee has already started inaugurations of puja pandals. Mamata visited the Shree Bhumi pandal a day before Mahalaya.
Officials at Nabanna said that there were more than 10,000 requests for the CM to inaugurate the pujas and out of which the CM has agreed to inaugurate a little over hundred pujas.
On Wednesday, Banerjee visited the pandal of Ekdalia Evergreen where her cabinet colleague Subrata Mukherjee is the chief patron. She also went to Behala on Tuesday to inaugurate several pandals. She started inaugurating the pandals from Mahalaya in a full-fledged manner.
The CM on Thursday inaugurated pandals at 74 Palli in Khidderpore and also 25 Palli. Then she went to 66 Palli and Badamtala Ashar Sangha. She was also at Bakul Bagan.
The CM will inaugurate the pujas that are organised by her cabinet colleagues within the city. Most of the
TMC leaders are involved in community pujas.
