PATNA: One Mukesh Kumar (32) was arrested on Tuesday night for allegedly raping a 3-year-old girl whom he used to teach
karate in a noted school at Kurji under the Digha police station area in
Patna.
DSP (law & order) Rakesh Kumar said on Wednesday the victim, who resides in a colony under the Digha police station area, was going to her maternal aunt’s home on Tuesday evening. “Mukesh, who was moving on a bike, spotted the girl and offered to drop at her aunt’s residence,” he said.
“The victim trusted Mukesh as he was her karate teacher,” Kumar said. He said Mukesh took the minor to a secluded place where he raped her and fled around 6.30pm.
“The victim was profusely bleeding and lying in a semi-conscious state on roadside when locals spotted her. She was rushed to a nearby hospital from where she was referred to
Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH),” the DSP said, adding her condition was stable.
He said the girl told the police she did not know the karate teacher’s name. She identified him only after the police showed her the photographs of a few suspects.
“Then after Mukesh was arrested from near his rented accommodation in Kurji locality before midnight,” the DSP said. He said the clothes of the victim and the accused were seized for forensic examination.
