Cyclone Titli inches close to Odisha, Andhra coast, IMD issues red alert

India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a bulletin saying that the deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ and is moving towards Odisha-Andhra pradesh coast. The cyclone is likely to make a landfall between Gopalpur and Kalingapatnam early on Thursday morning. The cyclone may trigger heavy rain accompanied by strong winds blowing at 125 kmph. The IMD has issued a red alert in the state for Wednesday and Thursday, forecasting ‘heavy to very heavy rainfall’ and ‘extremely heavy rainfall’ in isolated areas in the state.
