Ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 0.1 million, many residents have been waiting for subsidy for more than two months. The Chandigarh Renewal Energy and Science and Technology Promotion Society (CREST) is giving a subsidy of 30 per cent in order to promote solar power in the city. Earlier, it was released within a week of the installation of a solar system. A resident of Sector 19 had installed a 5 kW solar plant in July 2018 but failed to get subsidy, amounting to Rs 90,000 for over two months. Similar was the case of a resident from Sector 15, who despite completing all the formalities more than a month ago has failed to receive a subsidy of Rs 60,000.
