A visit to Tirumala doesn’t end with just the darsan of Lord Venkateshwara. Pilgrims, extending their stay by a couple of days, have a lot more to explore on the seven hills.
Mostly on pilgrims’ list are visits to temples, mutts, cottages, prasadam points and witnessing daily rituals on the hills, but not many coming from far-off places know about those. NavTTD, an app launched ahead of Bramhostsavam this month, promises to help devotees explore the hills apart from giving information on the all-important darsan.
The app contains comprehensive information to assist them with mapping and navigation of various points spread across the seven hills.
Easy mapping
Developed by Srisys Inc, a US-based software company that also has offices in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, the app will help pilgrims locate the places easily and plan their visit accordingly.
It will enable them to identify the travel path without taking the help of any individual, apart from giving access to TTD events calendar and information on the location of clinics, emergency centres, pharmacies as well as banks, a press release said on Tuesday.
NavTTD is built on Pigeon, a holistic Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation (IPIN) platform that uses geo-location technology helping find the locations, routes, events, etc. It also gives out alerts for the pilgrims to plan or change their schedule.
