HYDERABAD: An NRI entrepreneur who has returned from
Canada is likely to test the waters on behalf of TRS against TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy in Huzurnagar constituency, while the ruling party has almost finalised candidates for 11 other segments.
The NRI, Shanampudi Saidi Reddy, has been working in Huzurnagar for some time in the hope that he would be given the TRS ticket. Another contender K Shankaramma, mother of
Telangana martyr K Srikanthachary, was TRS candidate in the 2014 elections but had lost to Uttam.
TRS sources said the names of candidates for 11 seats have almost been finalised. With Konda Surekha dropped from Warangal East, it is clear that Warangal mayor Nannapaneni Narendar will test his luck.
Malkajgiri MP Ch Malla Reddy will be fielded from Medchal. Much before CM K Chandrasekhar Rao announces it officially, Reddy has begun campaigning.
In Choppadandi from where sitting legislator B Shobha has been dropped, the name of TRS SC cell state president Sunke Ravi Shankar has almost been finalised. In Zaheeerabad, which is represented by J Geeta Reddy of the Congress, the name of Erolla Srinivas is being considered. Srinivas is chairman of Telangana SC/ST Commission. For Kodad, which is now held by N Padmavathi of Congress, KCR is learnt to have favoured the candidature of Venepally Chandar Rao, who had won the seat four times in the past.
A former minister who jumped from the Congress to TRS is emerging as a strong nominee from Khairatabad.
From Musheerabad, M Gopal is likely to be pitted against sitting BJP legislator K Laxman. In Amberpet represented by G Kishan Reddy of BJP, the name of E Sudhakar Reddy is doing the rounds.
Former BJP MLA Prem Singh Rathod who joined the TRS may be fielded from
Goshamahal to take on BJP’s Raja Singh whose candidature is yet to be confirmed.
From Malkajgiri, the name of Mynampally Hanumantha Rao has cropped up and the party is likely to field M Ramchandar Rao instead of sitting MLA B Sanjeeva Rao in
Vikarabad.
