Lucknow: Cops caught taking bribe

LUCKNOW: A sub-inspector and a constable posted at Kakori were nabbed red handed while accepting bribe from a man. They were nabbed by a team of anti-corruption organisation (ACO) on late Tuesday night.


Father of an accused in protection of children from sexual offences act case was pressured to pay Rs 50,000 for getting his son’s name removed from the case in Andhe Ke police outpost under Kakori police station. He then lodged a complaint in the anti-corruption organization.

The officials constituted a team and on late Tuesday caught SI Dheeraj Singh and constable Azad red-handed accepting bribe.

Superintendent of Police (ACO) Rajeev Mehrotra said that both Singh and Azad have been arrested and a case against them on the charges of prevention of corruption has been lodged.
