The Bar Council of Delhi has announced setting up of a three-tier system to deal with the day-to-day working problems between the Bench and Bar, and the police, particularly at the district level.
The announcement was made during the felicitation function for Delhi High Court Chief Justice Rajendra Menon, held at India International Centre on Monday by the Bar Council of Delhi.
Bar Council of Delhi president advocate K.C. Mittal said a high power committee at all district courts, comprising a district judge, president of the respective Bar association and a nominee of Bar Council of Delhi, will deal with complaints for smooth functioning of courts.
“In case no resolution takes place, the matter will be referred to an apex committee at the level of the High Court, which will include a High Court judge, chairman of Bar Council of Delhi, chairman of the coordination committee and the president of the Bar association concerned,” Mr. Mittal said.
“We devote enough time to bring a viable mechanism and I hope the three-tier model at the High Court and district court-level will go a long way,” he added.
