Ludhiana: Assailants rob Rs 15 Lakh after opening fire at two men

LUDHIANA: Motorcycle-borne three assailants robbed two men of Rs 15 Lakh after opening fire at them on Tuesday evening near Ferozepur Road here. Both victims sustained bullets injuries in their legs and were rushed to DMC Hospital in Civil Lines.
The injured were identified as Karan Kumar and Manpreet Singh, who work for a private cash management company.

On Tuesday evening the duo reached the godown of Amazon behind a car showroom near Ferozepur Road to collect cash. Afterwards, as Karan and Manpreet, who were on a bike, were about to reach main Ferozepur Road, three miscreants attacked them and escaped with the cash.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP- West ) Gurpreet Singh said, "Three assailants, on one motorcycle, were already waiting for the victims. They tried to snatch the bag of cash, however, Karan and Manpreet resisted. Then the accused opened fire at them and escaped with the cash."

ACP further said that the police had recovered a toy pistol from the spot. The police are scanning the CCTVs installed near the spot to trace the accused.

The injured are admitted in hospital and undergoing treatment.
