Rajkot: A month-old fight over land dispute took a violent turn in a village of Junagadh district when a 28-year-old man was hacked to death by four persons.
The incident happened in Malanka village of Mendarda taluka.
The deceased Dhiru Hudad and one of the accused Jabbar Kathi had been at loggerheads over a piece of land for over a month. There had been altercations between them over the dispute in the past too.
On Monday night, Jabbar and his brother Prakash, along with Ketan Babariya and Bahadur Babariya, went to Hudad’s house and asked him to come out. They took him to the fringes of the village and smashed his head repeatedly with sticks and bats. Hudad died on the spot.
When he did not return home for a long time, Hudad’s wife Daksha informed other relatives who started searching for him. At around 2am, they found his body on the village outskirts. Daksha lodged a complaint with Mendarda police station against the four and they were arrested from the village on Tuesday.
