#MeToo: Now, Sacred Games writer Varun Grover accused of sexually harassing BHU student in 2001, comedian denies

MeToo movement is getting stronger day-by-day with various women coming ahead revealing their stories and calling out names of men who have sexually harassed them at some point of time. At present, a woman has anonymously accused comedian writer Varun Grover of sexual harassment in 2001 on the pretext of providing her stage direction for a play. The girl in a Twitter post shared screen shots where she revealed the incident.

As per the post, she and the accused (Varun) were students of BHU (Banaras Hindu University) when the incident happened. Back then Grover was her senior and was part of dramatics. They met during a music club where Varun asked the woman to walk towards him. The woman further mentioned that when she walked towards him, he suddenly got up and snuck her up from behind and touched her waist.

Meanwhile, the comedian on Twitter has denied the allegations saying, “I completely, totally, categorically deny all the allegations being made. The screenshot in question is untrue, misleading, and defamatory to say the least. Issuing a detailed statement soon”.

In past week, the movement has garnered momentum on social media. #MeToo movement started getting momentum after Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutt accused senior actor Nana Patekar for sexual assault during shoot of a song in a movie titled, ‘Horn Ok Pleasss’.
