WB grants land to TCG at Haldia

The cabinet on Tuesday granted 98.53 acres to Purnendu Chatterjee-led The Group (TCG) to set up a new plant at Haldia, state Transport said.

TCG has a majority stake in Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation's (MCC) Indian unit at in district.

"The state cabinet granted 98.53 acres to the Group to set up a new plant at Haldia," the told reporters at the state secretariat.

The work for the Rs 4500 crore plant would start from December, he said.

The (MCPI) will set up the plant to produce purified terephthalic acid, added.
