Noida: A 15-year-old girl who had been reported
missing from her housing society in Sector 62 had fled to her grandparents’ house in Rajasthan’s
Kota because she had lied to her parents about her exam results.
Pranshika Tyagi had been seen on CCTV entering the Rajat Vihar society after being dropped from her tuition classes but did not reach home on Friday. Her parents had lodged a missing person’s complaint.
On Monday morning, the
father received a call from his father-in-law who said Pranshika had reached their home in Kota. The father informed the police, who sent a team to Rajasthan to bring the girl back.
“She had told us she had scored 95% marks. But with the parent-teachers meeting (PTM) coming up, she must have got scared. That’s why she ran away. On Saturday, I went for the PTM and found she had scored 85%,” the father said.
Pankaj Rai, the SHO of Sector 58 police station, said the father had informed the cops that the girl had been reached Kota. “We need to talk to the girl to be able to speak more about the case,” Rai said.
Pranshika, a Class X student of a private school in Delhi, had gone for her tuition classes to a private institute in Sector 18 after which she had gone missing.
