Two detained\, one arrested for spreading hate messages

Vadodara: Two persons were detained by the Kalol police and one person was arrested for spreading hate messages against non-Gujaratis on the social media. The Panchmahal district was rife with rumours over the weekend and the messages on social media had contributed to the situation.
Sources said that the Kalol police had got information that Jitendra Rathod from Madhvas and Nana Patel from Shamaldevi had forwarded hate messages against non-Gujaratis on Whatsapp. The duo was detained by the police under the section 151 of the Criminal Procedures Code. They were released subsequently.

Mitul Parmar from Sama village in the taluka was arrested after the Kalol police was informed by the cybercrime cell of the Ahmedabd city crime branch regarding an offence registered against him. Parmar had allegedly posted a hate message against non-Gujaratis on his facebook profile. He will be handed over to the Ahmedabad police, officials said.
