TIRUPUR: Continuous rainfall has caused water logging in the city, flooding more than 500 houses. Many residents have shifted to the houses of their friends and relatives and to the relief camps set up by the civic bodies.
Areas like Perichipalayam, Therku Thottam and Thiruvika Nagar in the city were the most affected due to water logging. Water has entered most of the houses, knitwear units and shops. Local residents blamed poor drainage system for the situation.
