Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit’s statement on alleged corruption in the appointment of vice-chancellors of universities is not such a rude shock but what is disturbing is that when he is so sure of the crime, why has he not initiated any action against those involved? He would not have made such a grave allegation without having solid proof to substantiate his claim. Will he also call for an inquiry against his predecessors who were the final authority in the selection of VCs?
