When it comes to weddings, everyone wants to be a showstopper. And when the wedding happens to be that of a younger brother, you would leave no stone unturned, isn’t it?
This was allegedly the reason why a woman stole a car at gunpoint. Originally from Jharkhand, the woman, who has been identified as one Gazala alias Sapna, robbed the car near Delhi’s Moolchand flyover with help of two friends.
Gazala was married in 2009. But she got separated from her husband due to some dispute. Later, she left Jharkhand and started living with one Vansh Varma in Dehradun.
Gazala, Varma and another friend planned the carjacking because she wanted to take the car to her younger brother’s wedding and impress the relatives. The accused hired a car for a return journey from Delhi to Dehradun.
The incident of car-jacking happened on October 3rd. The trio robbed the car at gunpoint and left the driver at Moolchand Flyover.
“During interrogation, Sapna disclosed that she belongs to a poor family and was married in 2009. She had some dispute with her husband. She later started living with Varma in Dehradun. She said she had to attend her brother’s wedding in her village in Jharkhand and wanted to impress her family members. For this, she allegedly robbed the car with the help of Varma and her friend Kajal from Roorkee,” the DCP was quoted as saying by the HT.
