ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Monday Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation win will serve as an 'adrenaline shot' for the GOP in the midterms. McConnell also said the fight over Kavanaugh's confirmation led to Republican senators coming 'under assault' by some protesters who were trained to 'get in our faces' and 'attack us in the halls of the Capitol.'
"We were standing up for presumption of innocence in this country," said McConnell.
"You had a persons life being destroyed here, but unsubstantiated allegations I though we owed it to Judge Kavanugh to vote." "What I think this has done for us is provide the kind of adrenaline shot that we had not been able to figure out how to achieve in any other way."
