Haryana will make citizens’ register too\, says Khattar

GURGAON: Haryana chief minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar unofficially kicked off BJP’s poll campaign for the Haryana assembly elections, which are due late next year, on Monday by promising to conduct a survey for the controversial National Register of Citizens (NRC) soon.

“While we have a list of all Rohingya living in the state, we want the NRC survey to be done across Haryana as well,” Khattar said at an event in Gurgaon.

Khattar has been a vocal supporter of the NRC exercise in Assam and had earlier demanded such a survey for the whole of India.
