Share market update: Auto stocks mixed; Hero MotoCorp, Eicher Motors jump, but Tata Motors, M&M in red
NEW DELHI: Auto and auto ancillary stocks were trading mixed during Monday's session.
However, the Nifty Auto index was trading 0.61 per cent up at 8,969 around 12:55 pm, backed by gains in shares of Hero MotoCorp (up 3.59 per cent), Apollo Tyres (up 3.54 per cent) and Eicher Motors (up 2.97 per cent).
Shares of Ashok Leyland (up 2.37 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 1.15 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (up 0.92 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India (up 0.61 per cent) and MRF (up 0.29 per cent) were also trading with gains.
Motherson Sumi Systems (down 4.47 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 2.72 per cent), Exide Industries (down 1.67 per cent) and Bharat Forge (down 1.18 per cent) were the top losers in the auto pack.
Shares of Tata Motors (DVR) (down 0.64 per cent), Bosch (down 0.61 per cent), Tata Motors (down 0.21 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) (down 0.12 per cent) were in the red.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 44 points at 10,360, while the BSE Sensex was up 115 points at 34,492.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.
YES Bank, HPCL, Reliance Industries, Indian Oil Corporation and UPL were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.
Hindalco Industries, Vedanta, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys were among the top losers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
