Fitzpatrick in hilarious on-air celebration, Skinstad in despair

2018-10-08 12:51

Cape Town - Former All Blacks captain and current expert analyst, Sean Fitzpatrick, forgot he was on-air when he ripped into celebration moments after substitute flyhalf Richie Mo'unga kicked the All Blacks to an unlikely victory in the final seconds against South Africa at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.

According to the NewstalkZB website, commentating for Sky Sports UK, Fitzpatrick hilariously switched from professional mode to All Black fan in the blink of an eye when he was caught on camera fist pumping New Zealand's come-from-behind win.

In contrast, former Springbok and co-commentator Bobby Skinstad's face dropped in despair, as Fitzpatrick raised his fists proudly in celebration in the background.

Fitzpatrick, now 55, played 92 Tests for the All Blacks and was a Rugby World Cup winner in the inaugural tournament in 1987.

Skinstad, 42, co-incidentally played 42 Tests for the Springboks and was a member of the victorious World Cup squad in 2007.
