Delhi BJP blames CM Arvind Kejriwal over fuel rates

Manoj Tiwari
Amid the sanitation crisis in Eastern part of the capital and the increased prices of fuel in Delhi after the neighbouring states including Uttar Pradesh and Haryana provided at rate cut of two and a half rupees, following the reduction of the same amount by the central government, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari attacked Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal calling him ‘Twitter Minister.’
In a press conference, Tiwari attacked Kejriwal as the state government refused to cut the fuel prices by two and a half rupees even though the BJP lead neighbouring states had followed central government’s decision to provide relief of two and a half rupees making the fuel prices go down by five rupees per litre in BJP lead states.
Tiwari referred to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal as ‘Twitter Minister ’ and claimed that Kejriwal does not want to come out of his air-conditioned office and prefers to attack the central government over Twitter, while the residents of his states have been facing various issues under his regime.
“I do not see him coming on roads anymore, all he does is sit in the office and criticise central government’s each and every move. He no longer feels the pain of the residents of this state,” said Tiwari, while addressing the press.
The BJP state head also blamed the Aam Aadmi Party government in the state of the sanitation crisis in the eastern part of the national capital. “The state government has been playing politics and has been avoiding the release of funds to MCDs, to make sure that BJP lead MCDs fail to deliver,” added Tiwari. However, the state government had refuted the claims by BJP, on Friday it issued a statement stating that it had released Rs 770 crore to the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) alone in less than six months in the current year.
“It is an extremely serious matter that despite the Delhi government releasing Rs 770 crore to the East MCD alone, the sanitation workers are on strike for non-payment of their salaries whereas the area residents are suffering without any fault,” a Delhi government statement said.
It may be recalled that, after the EDMC claimed that the state government has failed to provide the funds for payment of salaries, the sanitation workers marched to the CM’s residence demanding payment of salaries on Thursday.
