LUDHIANA: Ludhiana Youth Congress leaders on Saturday wrote derogatory remarks against PM
Narendra Modi on a wall of mini secretariat. On the wall they wrote “Desh da Pardhanmantri Chor hai” (Country’s PM is a thief), the pics and video of the incident went viral on social media. District Youth Congress president Rajeev Raja admitted that the slogan was written by Youth Congress members as per instructions of party president
Rahul Gandhi and
Indian Youth Congress (IYC) office bearers. The development comes days after Rahul Gandhi too referred to PM as thief after which Congress’s social media chief Divya Spandana too referred to PM as thief in a tweet.
Meanwhile speaking to TOI on the issue, Raja said, “This is a campaign to expose the corruption and wrongdoings of the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With Rs 30,000 crores Rafael scam, Modi and his associates are not only cheating the nation but also backstabbing the soldiers who are fighting on the border and sacrificing their lives. Our fight will continue like this only and we will leave no stone unturned to bring the real face of Modi in front of public, so that voters teach him and his party a lesson in next Lok Sabha elections” Raja further added, “We get monthly programs from Youth Congress head office and accordingly we plan our activities and this too is part of such program. Moreover when Modi has cheated the nation by executing such a big scam like Rafael how does he deserves to be addressed as the PM."
BJP leaders have demanded the police to book Rajeev Raja, Rahul Gandhi and Ludhiana MP Ravneet Bittu under sedition charges. District president of BJP Ravinder Arora and other office bearers on Sunday filed a complaint with DCP Ashwani Kapoor in which they said that by using “thief” remark against PM, Raja has endorsed stand of Pakistan and it is clear that he has done this act with support of Rahul Gandhi and Ravneet Bittu both of whom recently gave similar kind of statements against PM.
Meanwhile some BJP leaders and workers protested at the site where Youth Congress had written the slogan but did not erase it allegedly as they want police to lodge and FIR first. BJP has also warned authorities that if FIR is not registered against the congress leaders by tomorrow, the party will stage protests at various places in the city.
