SNL Shows the GOP Doing a Victory Dance After Kavanaugh's Divisive Confirmation

Matt Damon might not have returned to reprise his beer-loving Brett Kavanaugh impression, but the embattled Supreme Court justice's confirmation process was still center focus for this week's new episode of Saturday Night Live.

This time, the cold open took CNN's Dana Bash (played by Heidi Gardner) to a place few women would want to be right now: the GOP's locker room, as they celebrated their candidate being sworn in, despite so many scandals emerging throughout the process and pouring salt in an open wound born by so many sexual assault survivors.

Among the most gleeful celebrants? Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Beck Bennett), and Kavanaugh's most vociferous defender on the Judiciary Committee Lindsey Graham (with Kate McKinnon returning to the role). "Republicans read the mood of the country, we could tell that people really wanted Kavanaugh," Faux McConnell explained with an awkward smile. "Everyone's pumped, from white men over 60 to white men over 70!"

"We made a lot of women real worried today but I'm not getting pregnant, so I don't care," added NotGraham, the South Carolina senator whose impassioned speech at Kavanaugh's hearing inspired McKinnon's finger-wagging histrionics in last week's cold open. "They've been there for us all week cheering, screaming outside our offices. [...] I know that they agree with us 'cause they are shouting out 'me too.'"

Also joining the fray were previously "undecided" Senators Susan Collins (Cecily Strong), Jeff Flake (Pete Davidson), and Joe Manchin (Mikey Day), whose "yes" votes were critical to Kavanaugh's confirmation.

Meanwhile, the show also riffed on the new Presidential Alerts that popped into everyone's phones this week, predicting that if those pings start to look like Donald Trump's Twitter feed, he might successfully cure everyone's screen addiction once and for all.
