The family of a 13-year-old girl from Ambedkar Nagar, Sion Koliwada, who allegedly committed suicide in the bathroom of her house on Saturday evening, has accused her school teacher of abetting the act.
The police said an FIR of suicide instigated by her school teacher, Anil Pal, was registered at the Wadala Truck Terminal police station on a complaint by the girl’s father. Her classmate has given a statement against the teacher.
On Saturday, the Class VI student had lunch with her four siblings and went to another room to sleep. Around 5.30 p.m., her brother-in-law and elder sister found the room to be locked from inside, but assumed she was sleeping. “Later, they broke open the door and found her lying on the bathroom floor,” assistant police inspector Salim Khan said.
