HYDERABAD: Telangana politicians are visiting sorcerers to know their fate in the upcoming elections. A video of Congress supporters visiting a ‘medium’ to know what is in store for the party has gone viral. In the video, two men are seen sitting with a ‘medium’ who holds a
coconut in his hands. If the coconut bends forward or backwards or rises to be in the upright position, that is supposed to indicate whether it is a good omen or not.
The first answer they seek is whether Rahul Gandhi will become the prime minister. They get an interpreted ‘yes’ for an answer. Another question is whether the TRS would lose in the polls. The answer is TRS will lose, as interpreted with the position of the coconut . A specific question is about whether agriculture minister
Pocharam Srinivas Reddy will lose from
Banswada. The ‘coconut’ indicates he will. And will Kasula Balaraju as Congress candidate win against Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, the ‘coconut’ answer is ‘yes’. At this juncture, the Congress is yet to announce its candidates, though Balaraju had contested the 2014 election as a Congress candidate and lost.
“Nonsense,” is what Rajendar Reddy Gannu said reacting to the video on
Twitter. “What a sorry state of affairs that the Congress has to depend on quacks to influence voters,” commented Manjula Kumar.
Rajendar, who describes himself as a “KCR bhakt” further commented “Now that the results have been declared, why does one need to hold elections? Everyone can go and occupy their seats in the assembly.

Uday Singh said it was a clear case of trying to influence the minds of innocent people. “They should be immediately booked under the Anti-superstition and Black Magic Act,” he said.
