The Wild Aventador SVJ Is A Fitting Farewell To The Big Lambo

The Lamborghini Aventador is nearing the end of its life cycle – and what better way to sent it on its way than the crazy SVJ edition.

The Aventador SVJ currently holds the title of the fastest production car in the Nurburgring, having set a lap time of 6:44.97, beating the Porsche 911 GT2 RS by 2.3 seconds.

Power still comes from that naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12, which has been tuned to produce 759hp (770PS) and 531lb-ft (720Nm), sending the SVJ to 62mph (100km/h) in 2.8 seconds and 124mph (200km/h) in 8.6 seconds. Top speed is 217mph (349km/h).

The all-wheel drive system has been retuned, the chassis features rear-wheel steering, but the most important bit of engineering is the active aero parts that helps the Aventador SVJ produce 40 percent more downforce and less drag.

There’s a lot going on to make the Aventador SVJ one of the fastest and most capable supercars available at the moment, but the main point is that the big V12 Lambo still makes the driver feel like he’s trying to tame a beast, which is what driving a supercar used to feel like.
