Hitesh Zaveri murder case: Fourth accused held by Ahmedabad crime branch

The Ahmedabad crime branch arrested another accused in the Hitesh Zaveri murder case, on Saturday. In the year 2014, Zaveri, owner of JK Bullion Private Limited, was shot and Rs 1 crore were looted from him.

At a press conference on Saturday, officers said they caught the culprit, identified as Vijendrasingh aka Doctor Chajjusingh, from Himachal Pradesh.

Four years ago, when Hitesh Zaveri visited the State Bank of India in Someshwar complex at Shivranjani, a group of people attempted to snatch his money. When Zaveri resisted, three of them opened fire at him. 

While Zaveri died on the spot, over 100 eyewitnesses who tried to save him, were left with minor injuries.

Three culprits, who were identified as Aqil Ahmed Jehaju, Kafil Ahmed Jehaju and Zabur Rehman were charged with murder and conspiracy and are already behind bars.

Vijendrasingh, however, absconded. He was working in a local factory. He hails from Bulandshaher in UP and has been involved in various other crimes of loot, robbery, murder, etc.

Police officials conveyed that further investigation is underway in other cities as well and that there is organised crime of loot and murder is also being carried out by the accused in cities like UP, HP, etc.
