LUDHIANA: Activist group, Samajik Jagriti Front, has filed a complaint in a local court against former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Badal seeking criminal case against them for Bargari firing incident. The court of magistrate first class Sumit Sabharwal has fixed the next date of hearing on the plea for October 9.

Front chairman Jagdeep Singh Gill said that in his petition court he had pleaded that the Badal and SAD president Sukhbir were responsible for the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib and incidents happening in Bargari at that time as they were chief minister and deputy CM respectively. Sukhbir had the main responsibility of maintaining law and order as he was the home minister at that time, the petition read.

Gill alleged that Badals didn’t fulfil their responsibility. He claimed that Punjab Police and administration worked under political pressure.

Without the permission of the chief minister, neither there would have been firing nor lathicharge at Bargari, he said, adding that he will fight for justice and would not stop even if he had to move the Supreme Court.
