ROHTAK: Union steel minister Birender Singh on Friday said all current MLAs, including former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and former MLAs of Haryana have been invited to an event at Sampla which will see inauguration of a 64-foot statue of peasant leader Sir Chhotu Ram by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 9.

Garhi-Sampla-Kiloi is the constituency of Hooda.

Birender said the rally would remain apolitical and all MLAs were invited to witness the historic event. “Sir Chhotu Ram was not a leader of one community, sect or religion. He was the hope and strength of every weak and poor person and being revered by persons of all faith,” he said.

On being asked whether All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) president Yashpal Malik, who has been opposing BJP leaders publically in Haryana, was invited, the Union minister said due invitation has been sent to him.
