Two 14-year-old girls were raped in separate incidents in Gurugram, the police said on Friday.
A teenager has been apprehended in connection with one of the cases.
On Thursday around 10.30 p.m., a 14-year-old resident of Bhondsi was tending to cattle outside her house when her neighbour called her inside his house under false pretext. When the girl did not return for a long time, her parents went looking for her in the neighbourhood, said the police.
The couple also knocked on the neighbour’s door but no one responded. When the girl returned around 30 minutes later, she told her parents that the neighbour’s husband had allegedly raped her. The family reported the matter to the police on Friday. A case has been registered under Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and on charges of criminal conspiracy under the Indian Penal Code, said the police.
Gurugram police spokesperson Assistant Sub-Inspector Subhash Boken said the couple is absconding.
Class VI student
In the second case, a Class VI student was allegedly raped by a teenager on September 28 in north-east Gurugram.
The accused allegedly recorded the sexual assault on video and threatened to make it public if she told anyone about the incident.
The girl confided in her parents about the sexual assault and revealed that the boy had raped her on an earlier occasion. The accused was also putting pressure on the girl to elope with him, and threatened to kill her and her parents if she refused, stated the FIR.
The police have lodged a case under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and on charges of criminal intimidation under the IPC. Mr. Boken said the accused was apprehended on Friday.
