‘Maseeha’ to be staged at IPTA’s celebrations

Nagpur: In a recognition for Nagpur’s theatre talent, Hindi play ‘Maseeha’ has been selected for IPTA’s (Indian People’s Theatre Association) National Platinum Jubilee Festival, scheduled to be held from October 27 to 31, 2018, at Patna, Bihar.
‘Maseeha’ has been written by Shailesh Narwade and directed by Rupesh Pawar. The play is among the 18 selected from across the country to be staged during the reputed national festival.

IPTA is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year and its National Platinum Jubilee Festival will be inaugurated by Bollywood actor Shabana Azmi.

The other celebrities attending the festival include Saeed Mirza, Sanjay Mishra, Akhilendra Mishra, Prakash Raj, Sambhaji Bhagat, and Chandan Mitra.

‘Maseeha’ is a musical thriller that tells the story of two friends, Baliraj and Mahisa, who are recruited by invader king Devmukut in his army and are used to suppress the voices of dissent.

The story tracks the journey of the two friends, from being humble farmers to loyal servicemen to rebels. The play will once again be staged on October 18 and 19, 2018, at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall.
