KSTDC to also conduct Open Bus Tour in the city from October 10 to 20

In an attempt to ease travel in Mysuru during Dasara festivities, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) has made transport arrangements for tourists.

The corporation has tied up with the BMTC, which will provide buses from its Cauvery fleet, to conduct an Open Bus Tour from October 10 to 20 in Mysuru. For a cost of ₹150, tourists can visit all the major destinations in the city on the 90-minute tour, a release from the KSTDC stated.

The KSTDC has also tied up with the KSRTC to operate ‘Hop-on, Hop-off’ bus service. Ten such buses covering 15 destinations, including Mysuru palace, zoo, and Chamundi Hills, will be operated. The buses will be available every 10 minutes, and tourists can book tickets online, too.

Flight service

Special flights from Bengaluru to Mysuru will operate between October 10 and 20. An MoU has been signed between the KSTDC and Alliance Air for this purpose. These flights will operate from Kempegowda International Airport every day baring Tuesday at 2.10 p.m. The return flight will start at 3.30 p.m. from Mysuru.

Sound-and-light show

The KSTDC is putting in place a sound and light show at Srirangapatna fort in an effort to showcase the history of the town. The 40-minute narrative will cover all major historical aspects of the town.

No Golden Chariot

After 10 years of operation this year, the KSTDC will not be operating Golden Chariot train during Dasara. According to Kumar Pushkar, managing director, KSTDC, the tender process to find a new hospitality partner for running the services is in progress, and is likely to be completed by October-end. As it is a luxury service, the new operator will take time to get things in place and hence, the train service will not be available for another two months, he said.
