Rajkot: An altercation over a trivial issue of catching pigs resulted in a man’s murder in Bhadali village of Sihor taluka in Bhavnagar district on Friday night. Six accused were arrested for the crime on Saturday.
Police said Gurumukhsinh Adhrel (55), a resident of Mafatnagar locality in Bhavnagar, was killed after he was trampled under a van and then attacked with swords and bats by the accused.
The accused were identified as Jitusinh Adhrel, Gernailsinh Adhrel, Karnailsinh Adhrel, Pradhansinh Adhrel, Paramjitsinh Adhrel and Takhatsinh Adhrel.
The accused objected to Gurumukhsinh and his son Nepalsinh coming to their area to catch pigs and picked up a fight with them. When the altercation escalated, the accused trampled Gurumukhsinh under a van and then attacked him with swords and bats.
“Gurumukhsinh was first taken to Sir T Hospital in Bhavnagar and then shifted to a private hospital where he died during treatment on Friday night,” said Sihor police station inspector M H Raolji. The accused were arrested from the highway at Songadh village near Bhavnagar.tnn
