Wants Yogi to ensure safety of Kashmiri students in UP

J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik on Friday morning raised the issue of manhandling of Kashmiri students at Greater Noida university with UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

“The Governor sought the intervention of Mr. Adityanath to ensure that Kashmiri students are provided a safe environment in educational institutions of the State,” said a Raj Bhawan spokesman.

A Kashmiri student was injured on Sharda University campus in Greater Noida in an attack two days ago.

“Mr. Adityanath told Mr. Malik that strict disciplinary action would be taken in the Sharda University incident,” said the spokesman. The UP government has already ordered an inquiry in the case. “All measures will be taken to ensure safety of Kashmiri students,” he said.

J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have raised their concerns over the matter.
