‘System to bring more transparency’

The Media in Adilabad and representatives of political parties on Saturday participated in a demonstration of working of the Electronic Voting Machines paired with the Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machine.

Collector and District Election Officer D. Divya said the system would usher in more transparency in the gamut of casting vote.

The voter can immediately verify the symbol of the party or candidate for whom he has voted on the VVPAT machine, Ms. Divya said.

“In case any voter complains that his vote got cast on some other party symbol and not the one which he intended, he will be given a chance conditionally to test cast his vote once again,” she explained.
