B Tech student hangs self over exam failure

HYDERABAD: A 23-year-old BTech student committed suicide, distraught over her failure in the third-year exam. Police said Aishwarya Desai was found hanging from a ceiling fan at flat in KPHB Colony on Thursday morning. A suicide note was found.
Police suspect she might have committed suicide after 10pm on Wednesday. When her mother, Anitha, knocked on the door of her room around 9.30am on Thursday, there was no response. She alerted the security staff, who broke open the door only find her hanging.

Her body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy and a case of suicide was registered at KPHB police station.

In another case, a couple committed suicide by consuming poison. The wife was pregnant, said Medipally police. They were identified as L Navaneet, an employee with Cognizant and his wife, Mumtaz. They got married last year. “The couple committed suicide three days ago. When one of their relatives came to check on them after they were not receiving calls, their bodies were found at their house in Medipally,” said Medipally inspector Anji Reddy.
