Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday showcased the industry-friendly attitude of the State explaining how it stood first in the ease-of-doing business.
Mr. Naidu inaugurated the Dixon India plant in Vikruthamala village of Yerpedu mandal, under the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster – II and went around the television manufacturing unit.
He spoke to the employees on their social and economic background.
Dinesh, a polytechnic graduate from Mr. Naidu’s constituency Kuppam, expressed delight at getting employment in his home district.
Similarly, Shaik Shavali of Yerpedu confessed that he had never thought of getting a job in his home town. He explained to the employees that the doors of opportunities were opening in Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing the public later, he recalled how the Renigunta area, known for its saline soil and water and an old airport, had transformed into an industrial hub and a posh international airport terminal in just four years. He hoped to make the most of the hardware imports worth $450 billion by focusing more on the manufacturing sector. He recalled how the State government had conducted three investment summits and brought MoUs worth ₹16 lakh crores, with an employment potential of 32 lakh jobs.
Hardware jobs
“We have already provided 20,000 jobs in the hardware sector and the entry of Jio unit will provide 21,000 more jobs. The Tirupati-Nellore-Chennai belt has the best potential for an industrial ecosystem, thanks to the impressive road network, abundant water, power and logistics in the form of three airports and two sea ports. Sri Venkateswara will ensure that the region gets its due,” he said.
