Surat: At least, 70 schools in city’s Choriyasi area participated in Swachhagraha Prerak training with the support of district education department on Friday.
Swachhagraha - Swachhata ka Satyagraha, a behaviour change education programme, is an initiative of Adani Foundation. ‘Swachhagraha’ draws inspiration from ‘Satyagraha’ led by Mahatma Gandhi during the freedom struggle movement.
The programme aims at engaging people and bringing about a change in them by ‘creating a culture of cleanliness’, an officer said. Swachhagraha will be implemented through teachers (Swachhagraha Preraks) and students (Swachhagraha Dal members) and be will be open to all schools. The module will focus on standards VI to IX, even though all classes may be involved. Schools, teachers and students will play pivotal role in achieving the objectives of the programme, he added.tnn
