AIADMK co-coordinator and Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Thursday said that the tactic used by Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran to win the by-election in the Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar Assembly constituency will not work in the Tirupparankundram by-election, which is expected to happen soon.
Speaking to journalists after participating in a meeting of AIADMK functionaries in Madurai to discuss the party’s strategy for the Tirupparankundram by-election, he claimed that everyone knew how Mr. Dhinakaran won the by-election in the Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar poll by cheating the public.
Party coordinator and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, who also took part in the meeting, expressed confidence that the party will win the Tirupparankundram by-election by a margin of more than 50,000 votes.
On Tiruvadanai MLA Karunas’s move to bring a no-confidence motion against Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Speaker P. Dhanapal, Mr. Palaniswami said that it was not tenable since Mr. Karunas won the election under the ruling AIADMK’s ‘Two Leaves’ symbol.
