2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Gains Two New Range-Topping Grades In Britain

Mitsubishi wants to lure buyers to their Outlander PHEV, with two new top-of-the-line trim levels called 5h and 5hs.

Available in the United Kingdom from £41,000 ($53,403/€46,017) and £43,100 ($56,138/€48,374) respectively, including the £2,500 ($3,256/€2,806) Plug-In Car Grant, they build upon the recently launched 4h and 4hs versions and benefit from the same revisions as the rest of the 2019MY range.

Standard items include new quilted Nappa leather upholstery in Gunmetal Grey, Porcelain Cream or Claret Red, with matching floor mats, Alpine sound system, heated rear seats and LED ambient lighting inside, joined by the ‘Outlander’ bonnet badge.

Besides this equipment, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 5h and 5hs come with the same features as the 4h and 4hs models, including LED headlights, DRLs, front fog lamps, heated windscreen, 360-degree camera system, heated front seats and steering wheel and keyless entry. The power tailgate, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and forward collision mitigation are offered at no extra cost.

Both models are powered by the same plug-in hybrid powertrain as the rest of the Outlander PHEV family. The new 2.4-liter unit makes 135 PS (133 hp / 99 kW) and works together with an 82 PS (81 hp / 60 kW) front and a 95 PS (94 hp / 70 kW) rear electric motors that take their power from a 13.8 kWh battery pack.

In the WLTP cycle, the SUV returns 139 mpg UK (2 l/100 km / 115.7 mpg US) on average, emits 46 g/km of CO2 and can travel on electricity for 28 miles (45 km).

The 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 5h and 5hs are already on sale in Britain.
