Water sample report likely today
Separate teams of Indore municipal corporation and pollution control board teams carried out search operations in 15 factories in Bhagirathpura area on Thursday to ascertain the source of chemical which is causing irritation in eyes of residents after getting mixed with Kahn river water, but to no avail.
Meanwhile, PCB took more samples of water from Kahn river. PCB senior scientist Dilip Waghle said that they have not found any chemical in the water in preliminary report. “We will conduct detailed examination of samples. The report is expected on Friday,” he said.
Hundreds of residents of Bhagirathpura had complained of vomiting, uneasiness coupled with irritation in eyes after somebody dumped chemical in the river while passing through locality. People had stated that they had spotted a tanker releasing something in the river but they would not give any further details.
