Pune is playing host to the first round of third edition of the IAPAR International Theatre Festival. The theatre competition is set to take place from the 3 rd to the 13 th of October.
The competition is a unique one as the "Natya Vachan" should be of 2 hours each which is a very challenging aspect to all the participants. The competition is open to Marathi plays and unlike the annual student plays; the challenge is open to all as it has an ‘Open Category.’

The competition is being held at Sudharshan Rangamanch and the audience are receiving the opportunity to watch the plays for free. In the previous year, many plays from around the globe were performed. The play performed from India was the Malayalam play, 'Chillara Samaram' - (Strike of the Common Man) Little Earth Theatre.
